After the commercial success and widespread discussion surrounding The Kerala Story (2023), producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah returns with its sequel, The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond. The makers have now released the official trailer, which presents a stark and unsettling portrayal of alleged religious coercion, forced conversion, and abuse faced by Hindu women.
A Chilling Opening and Central Theme
The trailer opens with a bold warning, claiming that India could transform into an Islamic state governed by Sharia law within the next 25 years. This sets the tone for a narrative that positions itself as urgent and confrontational.
The story unfolds through three parallel narratives, each highlighting the alleged exploitation of Hindu girls by Muslim partners, ultimately leading to forced religious conversion and abuse.
Three Stories, Three States
Rajasthan: POCSO Complaint and Forced Conversion
The trailer first shifts to Rajasthan, where a distressed family arrives at a police station to file a POCSO complaint. They allege that their 16-year-old daughter was coerced into religious conversion after being influenced by her boyfriend.
Madhya Pradesh: Marriage Under False Pretences
In the second thread, set in Madhya Pradesh, a young Hindu woman is shown entering marriage under deceptive circumstances. What initially appears to be a consensual relationship soon turns into alleged coercion, with the woman being pressured to convert against her will.
Kerala: Live-In Relationship Turns Violent
The third narrative takes viewers back to Kerala. A Muslim man proposes a live-in relationship to his Hindu girlfriend. When she firmly refuses to convert, the trailer shows her allegedly being forced to consume beef and held captive by the man and his family. Scenes suggest prolonged torture and isolation, while her family struggles to rescue her.
Family Trauma and Emotional Fallout
Interwoven throughout the trailer are disturbing visuals depicting the suffering of the three women after their alleged forced conversions. Equally prominent is the emotional turmoil of their families, who are shown fighting legal, social, and emotional battles to bring their daughters back home.
Makers’ Statement and Release Date
Sharing the trailer on social media, the makers wrote:
“They targeted our daughters. They broke their trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond. Is baar sahenge nahi… ladenge.”
The film is slated for a theatrical release on 27 February 2026.
Public Reaction: Praise and Pushback
The trailer has triggered strong reactions online. Many viewers praised its intensity, with comments calling it “hard-hitting,” “goosebumps-inducing,” and “a real story that needs to be told.”
However, a section of viewers criticised the film, labelling it “another propaganda movie” and questioning its intent and narrative framing—echoing the polarized response that surrounded the first film.
