Serie A: Pisa vs. Como – Confirmed line-ups and match updates
Nico Paz returns to the Como starting XI as Cesc Fàbregas and his side aim to draw level on points with Juventus and Roma when they face Pisa in a crucial Serie A encounter on Tuesday afternoon.
Pisa head into the match sitting 19th in the table and in desperate need of a victory to climb out of the relegation zone. Alberto Gilardino’s men were held to a 1–1 draw by Genoa in their previous outing — their ninth draw of the campaign — and the coach has responded with several major changes for this midweek fixture.
Gilardino rings the changes for Pisa
The Pisa manager has rotated heavily, particularly in defence and attack. Francesco Coppola and Antonio Caracciolo come into the back line in place of Raúl Albiol and Giovanni Bonfanti. In midfield, Marius Marin and Gabriele Piccinini replace Mehdi Léris and Malthe Højlolt, while Matteo Tramoni and M’Bala Nzola are preferred in the forward line ahead of Henrik Meister and Stefano Moreo.
With results still elusive despite competitive performances, Pisa will be hoping that fresh legs — and renewed attacking impetus — can spark a turnaround in their survival push.
Como eye top-four parity
Como, currently sixth in Serie A, enter the match with the opportunity to draw level on points with both Juventus (4th) and Roma (5th) if they secure victory.
Cesc Fàbregas’ side suffered back-to-back defeats to Inter and Roma at the start of December, but have since regained momentum with convincing wins over Lecce and Udinese across the past 10 days.
The key headline from the Como camp is the return of Nico Paz to the starting lineup. The Argentine forward was used only as a substitute in the 1–0 win over Udinese, playing just over 20 minutes — but he now resumes his place in the attacking trio.
There are also recalls for Ivan Smolčić, Álex Valle, and Nicolas Kühn as Fàbregas rotates but maintains balance across the squad.
Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00 GMT.
