Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty, the much-anticipated sequel has built solid momentum early in its theatrical run and appears ready to capitalize on the weekend rush.

Border 2 Sees Strong Growth in Advance Bookings

In advance bookings alone, Border 2 has crossed the ₹15 crore mark in gross collections, reflecting a healthy upward trend compared to Day 1. The film has already sold over 4.6 lakh tickets nationwide, underlining its growing popularity among moviegoers.

A notable contribution has come from national cinema chains such as PVR Inox and Cinepolis, which together account for a significant share of ticket sales. This performance is particularly impressive given Sunny Deol’s traditionally strong pull in B and C centers, where non-national cinema chains usually dominate.

Day 2 Advance Booking Breakdown

As per reports, Border 2 sold more than 4.68 lakh tickets in advance for Day 2, out of which 1.91 lakh tickets were booked through national cinema chains.

Here’s the chain-wise split:

Such a strong response from premium multiplex chains highlights the film’s wider appeal across urban audiences, exceeding initial expectations.

Border 2 Box Office Collection: Day 2 Advance Numbers

In terms of revenue, Border 2 has grossed ₹15.34 crore at the Indian box office through Day 2 advance bookings, excluding blocked seats. When compared to Day 1’s ₹12.5 crore, this marks a healthy jump of 22.72%, signaling growing traction.

Positive Word of Mouth Boosts Momentum

Interestingly, the film’s journey has seen a turnaround. After the release of its first teaser, Border 2 faced criticism for its visuals and overall presentation. However, audience perception changed significantly following its release.

Unlike Gadar 2, which opened to mixed-to-poor critical reception, Border 2 has received comparatively decent feedback, with early audience reactions being favorable. This positive word of mouth is now clearly translating into stronger advance bookings and higher footfalls.

Heading Towards a Big Saturday Score

With advance bookings already robust, Saturday is expected to witness a substantial boost from over-the-counter ticket sales. Given the strong pre-sales trend, a ₹40 crore net collection on Day 2 appears achievable, although final numbers will depend heavily on night-show occupancy.

Importantly, there are no capacity constraints, as the film is playing across more than 16,000 shows nationwide. This wide release gives Border 2 ample room to maximize its box office potential and post a big Saturday total.
